Rune Glerup premiere in Berlin

Monday November 25 sees Denmark go to Germany in a couple of senses when the Copenhagen Piano Quartet give the world premiere of Rune Glerup's new Piano Quartet at the Danish Embassy in Berlin.

Following this international premiere, Glerup's work is to be heard in Dublin on November 29 when the Crash Ensemble perform his work of 2009 Dust Encapsulated #2. This energetic work displays perfectly the young Dane's tendency to construct compositions of 'musical objects'. Upon this concept he says: 'My work with musical objects has been an almost utopian attempt to get music to approach visual art, where the physical aspect is very present and which, through the years, has been a strong source of inspiration'.

Glerup's miniature tour of Europe concludes on December 4 as the Ex Novo Ensemble of Venice present his recently completed Quartettsatz at the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice.
