The concert programme of this year's New Music for Strings Festival includes Simon Steen-Andersen and Line Tjørnhøj.

New Music for Strings Festival launches its third annual season taking place 11-25 August. Hosted by The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus, Denmark, and the Iceland Academy of the Arts, NMFS brings together performers and composers of contemporary classical music from across the Atlantic.

The festival takes place in Aarhus, Denmark and Stony Brook, NY in alternating years, and this year the concerts take place in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Reykjavík.

The goal of New Music for Strings is to foster an interdisciplinary space between the fields of string instrument performance and composition. The festival features a concert series, lectures and masterclasses, and works by Simon Steen-Andersen and Line Tjørnhøj are included in the concert programme.
