Lenio Liatsou premieres Winther Christensen pieces

Christian Winther Christensen is working on an ongoing project, writing a number of 'Piano Preludes'. February 14th two new pieces are being premiered in Thessaloniki.

The Greek pianist Lenio Liatsou who specializes in new music will premiere the new 'Piano Preludes'. She has performed countless premieres of new works, and has worked with composers such as Peter Eotvos, Helmut Lachenmann, Beat Furrer, Manos Tsangaris and Georges Aperghis, and now adds Christian Winther Christensen to that list. 

Christian Winther Christensen's 'Piano Preludes' is performed on a piano completely covered in masking tape, and so far the total work consists of 9 pieces. Read more about the work, and peruse the scores of some of the preludes here.

The concert will also feature works by Georges Aperghis, Salvatore Sciarrino and Gerard Pesson, and after the premiere in Thessaloniki the concert will be played in Athens the following week.
